Le Monstre is built on the GM Sigma II Platform better known as the 2011-2012 CTS-V Coupe. It features D3′s competition proven powertrain, competition suspension package and complete wide body conversion. This purpose built vehicle is designed to bridge the gap between Cadillac’s racing efforts and what the vehicles consumers can purchase off the showroom floor. The official debut of the car will be unveiled in the Toyo Tires booth at the SEMA 2011 in Las Vegas, NV.

Coined by the French media in the 1950; Le Monstre, was a nickname that was used to describe a 1950 Cadillac Coupe Series 61 that was built to compete in the 24 hours of LeMans event that was driven by Briggs Cunningham. Like the namesake references, Series 61, this marks the 61st year since that historic event. D3 chose this modern day Le Monstre to showcase its tuning prowess and appreciation for Cadillac’s motoring and racing history.

Le Monstre utilizes all of the latest performance advancements from D3 in terms of thermal efficiency, suspension/chassis, aero, and powertrain that is capable of producing in excess of 1001HP & 1000FT Lbs tq. Extensive performance upgrades & technology have been integrated into the vehicle to offset the overall weight making it a powerful adversary on the track. Le Monstre will come equipped with Toyo Proxes T1R UHP summer tires and/or Toyo Proxes R888 competition tires and said to be targeting 1+G on the skid pad.

D3 looks forward to Le Monstre race season in 2012 and will be participating in Time Attack and other applicable forms of competition racing.
